The Simulation of Pricing Algorithms for ATM Networks

چکیده

Effective bandwidth and incentive compatible pricing algorithms for ATM networks are considered for simulation using the OPNET ATM Modelling Suite. The paper focuses on the modification of AMS data structures and processes to support charging algorithms. The network models and traffic generators used for the pricing simulations are discussed in terms of the demands on multiservice networks, which support a mix of real time and best effort traffic. Suggestions are made for extending the AMS template data structures and processes to inherently support QoS connection switching, and hence charging simulations. The simulation results of the pricing simulations are presented, from which conclusions are drawn.
